Stick us in the brutal moment, don't smother the story with the gloss of historical "perspective." Stoic strength in the face of horror, "failure" to act, surviving to LIVE can be heroic in the end. It's a difficult line of balance, one that I'm currently crafting with an oft idealized historical subject. <br /><br />Great examples on the mishandling of true-life subjects. CRASH was a nightmare.
