It's always a bit frustrating when there is 3 or 4 minutes of screen time in one paragraph. Good sign that the read will be painful.itstartedwithawindmillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01033370072650216855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4706282221761427996.post-37041985073969670362010-04-14T09:08:47.931-07:002010-04-14T09:08:47.931-07:00These are blog posts that really help me out. Run the action as tightly as possible so that the page is a veritable column three tabs deep! When I am reading a script, I find the vertical content easier to parse as well, so the lesson reinforces itself.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10125745545009130612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4706282221761427996.post-70683944952853804302010-04-14T07:43:33.308-07:002010-04-14T07:43:33.308-07:00Thank you for posting this! As people have come to me with questions, I try and steer them toward this style as well.
Some respond with, "Well this is the way I write."
My response? "Well, the READERS I've spoken to PREFER this way."
I don't think a lot of people understand that readers FLY through scripts. You need to make it as easy as possible for THEM, because, if you do, THEY are the ones that move your script along. I would MUCH rather read vertically written scripts.
They tell me: 1.) It'll be a fast and easy read (not counting content and grammar, of course) and
2.) They're writing skills are good enough where they can get their point across in one or two words.
GOLD!ScreenwriterChichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01022801409843901860noreply@blogger.com
