I wasn't blown away by the film, but...Spoilers.<br />I wasn't blown away by the film, but I did enjoy it. Your musing on whether the toys actually have free will is determined when Emmet plops himself off the table when he was next to the father, without the child's help.<br /><br />As for what Lego was trying to accomplish with message, I think they rocked the points home quite victoriously. Now kids will feel confident that they aren't losers when they can't make the pretty contraptions they see on all the Lego boxes on the shelves these days. They'll be happy just to click random blocks together and feel the movie justified their unique creativity.<br /><br />As for my own movie pros and cons, there were two biggies. The con being how fast a lot of the action happened - something I hated in transformers. Yes, it's cool that bricks comes together in different patterns to make things, but if it happens too fast, then I can't experience the coolness of it.<br /><br />The pro was Lord Business.
