I got a question from a 15 year-old reader named Valencia, who asked one of the most basic questions we each face as writers:
"How would I know if I'm a good writer?"

How do you know if your script is any good?
I've been writing my entire life. I still remember the stories I wrote when I was in elementary school. I have a degree in Theater from USC and took every playwriting and screenwriting course I could while I was there. I've probably finished a dozen features with twice as many half done.
ReplyDeleteI doubted my writing the whole time. It wasn't until one of my scripts won in Austin last year (at age 34) that I really started thinking of myself as a good writer.
