Tuesday Talkback: Hot Button week

Since I'm taking on a few hot-button topics this week, race and religion, I figured it was a good time to open the floor up to you guys and see what sets you off. What do you find most offensive in movies and TV? Where do you draw the line of bad taste?

  1. Antichrist, by Lars von Trier. That was a tough watch. I'll watch anything, but that is where the line is now drawn for me. Kind of felt a lot of the art was lost in the wild goriness.

  2. Introducing an entire character who gives seemingly vital information, then inserting a throw away line later that the person was just a hallucination. .

  3. TV Shows where the main characters have all slept with one another. Then, new characters are introduced so that the main characters may have fresh meat to sleep with.

  4. Reality shows where the joke is to make fun of some rube by misleading them. I know this puts me directly opposite of Candid Camera and Sacha Baron Cohen, but there you are.

  5. I think the portrayal of homosexual men in popular media as lispy, dainty, "buddies" is the blackface gag of our time.

  6. I concur 100% with kgmadman. I find this incredibly offensive.
